RaySafe ThinX models and measurement parameters
    Description

An easy tool for fast results

RaySafe ThinX has been optimized to meet the need for a basic multi-parameter instrument for simultaneous measurement of dose, dose rate, kVp, HVL, exposure time and pulses. All parameters are conveniently displayed on the large LCD.

    Fully automatic user interface

The main advantage of the RaySafe ThinX is that it provides a fully automatic user interface. There are no keys on the RaySafe ThinX, no setup. no settings, and no range selection. It is all automatic - just position and expose. Utilizing Auto ON/OFF, the RaySafe ThinX turns itself on when radiation is detected! With an unequaled battery life of more than 1 year, there is no maintenance needed.

The RaySafe ThinX, being small and easy to use, is a perfect choice for radiation measurements in radiographic applications.

In spite of its small size, it is packed with world-leading, state-of-the-art technology to make your measurements effortless. There is no need to worry about manual corrections for added filtration. The meter uses RaySafe’s exclusive Active Compensation to apply corrections for variations in beam filtration to both kVp and dose measurements.

Why X-ray quality assurance testing is important

Unnecessary radiation exposure from X-ray equipment can be dangerous for both patients and hospital staff. Proper quality assurance testing ensures good image quality at the lowest possible X-ray doses, and enables preventive maintenance of the X-ray machine.

Can I change the dose unit on my ThinX?

Yes. Irradiate your ThinX with a sequence of pulses: 3 short, 3 long, 3 short. (Short: <150 ms, long: >300 ms.) The sequence must be performed within 10 minutes. The message "Confirm unit change to Gy?" or "Confirm unit change to R?" is displayed. To confirm, make an exposure of any length within 20 seconds. The message "Unit changed!" is displayed and the ThinX will show values in the new unit. (1 Gy = 114.1 R)

My ThinX shows this screen, why?
    ThinX message
    • If you just replaced the battery, this means that your ThinX is starting up. Be patient and wait for a while.
    • If the screen appears when you are exposing the ThinX to radiation, you need to replace the battery (model CR2450). Follow the instructions in the user manual: ThinX RAD or ThinX Intra. We recommend using a battery from GP Batteries.
I get an "Instrument error" instead of readings. What shall I do?
    ThinX message 2

Note: If the error code is "SE:4, CE:0, OE:0", a firmware upgrade is needed. Follow the instructions in the Service Request Form.
